I believe that once you choose a market you should look for untapped opportunities within the niche you’re exploring. Drill down into sub-niches of your target market to find aspects of it that are unexplored or barely touched. Think specialization and focus on becoming the expert on a particular issue or topic. Your goal should be to become the go-to marketer in a particular segment within that niche.
Some people will tell you that guest blogging is no longer effective, but with a strategic approach, guest blogging can still be one of the best ways to generate website traffic. The most important thing is to blog on sites that are relevant to your audience so that you generate high-quality traffic. Offer a lead magnet to entice new visitors over to your website, and return the favor by asking other writers to guest post on your site too, then share that content on social media. Don’t limit yourself to written posts either -- podcasts, Instagram takeovers and YouTube guest appearances are all highly effective in 2018 and beyond.
My company has been working on a large link building project. We’ve already performed extensive keyword research and link analysis and now we’re considering executing an email outreach campaign. Securing a guest post on a reputable site can increase blog traffic to your website and help build your brand into the bargain. Be warned, though – standards for guest blogging have changed radically during the past eighteen months, and spammy tactics could result in stiff penalties. Proceed with caution.
Clearly, paying for ads and other initiatives is always one method to drive traffic to your site or blog. If you have a small budget, and you track things properly, you can come up with a cost-per acquisition (CPA). If your CPA is high enough, you can comfortably scale your advertising revenues. Be sure to implement things like Facebook and Google tracking pixels to determine the effectiveness of your ads.
